What is a sound power level? Receivers (e.g. sound level meters) measure the "sound pressure level" (Lp), a decibel value of the sound by a source at a distance. The source of sound itself is calculated with a "sound power level" (Lw). This is a decibel value that represents the total acoustic output radiated.

This calibrates our ADC to map the 0 to 3.3V range of the analog input to the 0 to 1024 range of the digital values. For this to happen on the electronics level you need to feed your module with 3.3V and to connect the Arduino ARef pin to 3.3V. Make sure that your module is capable of operating at this voltage.
